Las Vegas, the Sin City

Coming from the city of angels, it would only be fair to visit the sin city as well. So next city on our road trip is (drum rolls) Las Vegas!

What I love about Las Vegas is that it can be anything that you want it to be. While most people head to Vegas to gamble and party like there’s no tomorrow, there’s also SO MUCH to do that is exactly the opposite. Incredible restaurants, terrific shopping, world-class shows and entertainment, and spas for days. So no matter what you’re up for, Las Vegas truly has something to offer for everyone.

We reached Las Vegas on a friday afternoon. So after our check in, we changed quickly and went to explore the Strip. The atmosphere is crazy! So many people enjoying their meter cocktails, moving from one casino to another, street perfomers …  you have it all. Since we were tired from our long drive we just chose a few casinos to play. I really thought we will lose all our money there so I had a budget, but luckily on the first night we managed to double it. 😂

The next day, we went on our usually breakfast at iHop and then to explore the Sin City! I had some hotels that I wanted to check out. So, we found ourselves walking through a few beautiful hotels like the Caesars Palace, Cosmopolitan, and also checked out the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at Bellagio. Each hotel has something unique in order to attract visitors. The most famous is the Bellagio Fountains, with over a thousand fountains choreographed to music every 15 mins from 8pm–midnight and every 30 mins in the afternoons. There is also the volcano outside the Mirage which erupts at 8pm and 9pm (plus 10pm on Friday and Saturday) and a free circus show featuring acrobats and clowns every half hour from 11am–midnight at Circus Circus.  Another not to miss is the Flamingo’s Wildlife Habitat, with exotic birds and fish in 15 acres of gardens.

For the afternoon, stroll through the shops in the Grand Canal and grab some gelato while you’re at it. The whole scene looks so much like Venice that you may feel like you can check that city off your bucket list! You can even take a gondola ride through the canal, complete with your very own singing gondolier.

For the night we went back to some casinos hoping to gain more money, bummer we lost 😂. I hated to see around me people winning and me losing, but I guess someone has to lose as well. If you plan to hit a club, have some drinks first at the casino since they are free if you play there. Otherwise be prepared to pay around 20$ for a drink in a club. And if you’re visiting like us during weekend, be prepared for some serious crowds! All set aside, is still that Las Vegas vibe and craziness that made you visit this place!

The next day, since it was a Sunday, everything was much more quiter. I really liked to see Las Vegas on a weekend and a week day as well. The difference is so big. Sunday night we were almost alone in the casinos, able to choose whatever machine we wanted. 😂 We still didn’t won. We managed to lose all our money allocated for gambling! But the most important thing is that we had sooo much fun!

If you’re planning to visit Las Vegas, go for it! It’s such a unique city, by being a mixture of everything, that you have to see. I am looking forward to see your comments about this Sin City below!
